Connor Addison is a UK-born artist who has been painting at Groc Projects, Barcelona, Spain for seven years. With an educational background in Art and Philosophy, his work draws from myth, psychoanalysis, existentialism, metaphysics, and architectural motifs to construct meaningful secular allegories for the contemporary age.
Through a style of geometric figuration combined with psychological symbolism, surrealism, and spiritual liminality, his work has often been identified as ‘Meta-Cubism’, taking on a universe of its own. He aims to offer an antidote to a world without meaning and moral relativism by utilizing the allegorical methods of religious art to reflect on universal yet personal anxieties, moral questions, and archetypal issues of humanity that transcend any specific era, creed, or ideology.
In 2022, he founded ‘Last Universal Creative Ancestor’, an artist residency and retreat near Igualada, Spain, which ran for two years. His work features in a number of prominent US collections and has been shown in the UK, Spain, France, Austria and the United States
